Casa Rosa is a beautiful detached house nestled in the middle of Bugnara, a medieval village in the heart of Abruzzo, Italy, close to Sulmona and the Abruzzo National Park. It is the perfect location for walking, trekking holidays and for winter skiiing, as Roccaraso is just 25 minutes away, There are numerous walks from the village, for sightseeing or just for a relaxing break away. The beaches of the Adriatic are under an hour away and the lakes at Scanno are only 20 minutes away, there is even a Water Park at Corfinio which is only 15 minutes down the road.
Casa Rosa is only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of the village (which has been officially recognised as one of the top 10 most beautiful villages in Abruzzo) here you will find three bars, shops, Post Office, chemist and hairdresser along with several churches.The house has recently been renovated to a high standard and has a newly fitted kitchen, shower room, two separate bedrooms .
Casa Rosa is a well equipped, centrally heated, light and airy detached cottage. You enter through our beautiful chestnut doors into the ground floor which includes a brand new kitchen area with electric oven/grill, mains gas hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, electric kettle, cafetiere, cool bag, iron and ironing board, dining table with four chairs.
In the lounge area you will find the open fireplace with a leather settee, two armchairs, television (with Italian channels) and a DVD player complete with a selection of DVDs, CDs, games and books. There is also a CD player with radio.
The first floor has a hanging storage area on the landing with a shower room comprising of a w.c., large wash-hand basin and a shower with views over the mountains. Also off the first floor landing is the main bedroom has a kingsize bed with a verdigris metal bedframe, chest of drawers, radiator, free standing fan and wooden double glazed french windows with shutters, leading to its own balcony which is large enough for a chair and your favourite book. Also off the first floor landing is the second bedroom has twin beds each with metal bedframes, chest of drawers, radiator, fan and again french windows with shutters leading onto its own balcony, which can also accommodate a chair for watching the world go by or view of the mountains.
A staircase from the landing area leads through the attic and onto the large roof terrace, with lovely views over the surrounding roof tops to the Maiella mountains. This roof terrace is a great sun trap and a perfect spot to relax on, it is equipped with a table, chairs, umbrella and sun loungers.

The large roof terrace measures 5.5m x 3m and commands excellent views, the perfect spot for eating al fresco, or just relaxing and soaking up the sun or complete 'suntrap', as several guest have described it. A table, chairs, umbrella and sun loungers are provided.
The front terrace has a small bistro table and chairs and is just right for morning coffee.
Being totally detached, Casa Rosa does has a garden area to the side and back of the house which is due to be transformed and will include a secluded sun terrace, cottage garden and patio area, complete with table, chairs, BBQ for more relaxing - watch this space!
Free parking is available close by and it is only a twenty metre level walk from the house.
One approach to the chestnut doors of Casa Rosa is from the parking area, but there are other approaches via sloping 'donkey step' paths leading down from the centre of the village as the immediate walkways to the front and side of the house are pedestrianised.
